In the USA the former fireman Tenny Piers has received 1.4 million dollars. The joke of his colleagues, who behind his back have added into his lunch the dog canned food, cost the Los Angeles city budget this sum.
As the victim has written in his claim, while eating this “dish” other firemen were laughing, emitting various sounds, including imitating dog bark. Tenny had to leave the fire brigade as he constantly was incurred moral pressure – colleagues constantly were laughing and barking at his presence.
Having considered the Tenny Piers’ plaint, the board of the City Council qualified the joke as a racial discrimination and mockery (Piers – is black). The monetary indemnification at a rate of 2.7 million dollars has been adjudged to the victim. However mayor of Los Angeles has put a veto for this decision and ordered to continue judicial suit. As a result the sum of indemnification has considerably decreased, and now Tenny will receive only 1 million 400 thousand dollars.
